Martin Spath

SPATH, Martin 1931 - 2008 Former Employee Alexander Sheet Metal, Retired Partner, Foral Metal, Volunteer Civic Auxiliary With great sadness we announce the passing of Martin Spath, on December 15, 2008. He was surrounded by his loving children and beloved wife and best friend Helena. Martin was predeceased by his first wife Rosa. He leaves behind his daughters Sally (Nestor Kruger), Linda (Kelli Payne), Elizabeth Skrobek (Mark Diotte), and his sons Mark and John Skrobek (Ala Glowka) as well as his grandchildren Eric and Aleksandra Diotte, Matthew, Serena and Isabella Skrobek whom he loved very deeply. Martin will be sadly missed by his family in Germany, his sisters Elisabeth, Lina, his brother Gustav, niece Ulrike and nephews Helmut and Jurgen; and many other family members too numerous to name. He was also predeceased by his brother Karl. A Memorial Service will be held to honour this great gentle man on Friday, December 19th at 11 a.m. at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa (30 Cleary Ave). A reception will follow. We wish to thank all those involved in making Martin's last days comfortable, especially Dr. Andrew Mai, Dr. Andrew Scott and all the nursing staff of 5 East Oncology Unit at the General Campus. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Ottawa Hospital, 5 East, Oncology Unit, General Campus so that they will continue their fantastic work.
