COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Mary Donna York, 64, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Miss York died Sunday, September 24, 2017. Born on February 2, 1953, she was the daughter of Wallace E. York and the late Catherine Muller York.
Mary was a graduate of Spring Valley High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of South Carolina and later received her Master’s in English from USC. She was an instructor at Midlands Technical College. Mary attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the choir.
In addition to her father, surviving are her two brothers, William York (Sandra) of Blythewood and John York (Connie) of Columbia; nephews, Kristian Bell, and Bryan, Andrew, and Garrett York; and cousin, Kerry Frazier (Debbie).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Mary, you will be missed! This will be my first WELCA retreat for which you are not in attendance, and that doesn't seem right. Prayers for peace and comfort are extended to the entire family during this most difficult time.
