Matt loved to go to church and often sat with some of the widows that he adopted as his "grandma." although his own grandmothers lived in California, Matt had many grandmas in Texas and Colorado as well as California where his father served as minister. Dear Matt family,

I am sorry for your loss and pray God will comfort you during this difficult time. I knew Matt as my brother, Eugene best friend/roommate at Spring Creek for 10 years. He was a good, caring person. He always made sure to tell me how much he loved my brother like a brother. I would see Matt almost every weekend when picking up my brother. I remember the first Christmas, I bought Matt a pack of blank CDs cause he loved making playlists :). He had talent and was a great DJ lol. With the help from Gary (group home staff), I would throw birthday and super bowl parties, bowling, and take candy for Halloween. I always enjoyed seeing the smiles on my brother and roommates faces. I will never forget Matt smile, love, stories on new electronic devices & mixtapes, and watching over my brother. They were more than best friends, they were brothers. Rest In Heaven Music Matt!

Dear Dan, Emily and Family,

My heart goes out to you in this time of both sorrow and rejoicing. Matt will be missed in our daily lives, but we know God had his room ready when He called Matt home. The steadfast faith you and your family has shown by example over the 49 years God loaned Matt to you will serve as fond memories to all who know you.

Much Love,
Ilene
