Melissa Farrell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 3 to Nov. 4, 2013.
SAN ANGELO Melissa Leigh Armijo Farrell was born Feb. 22, 1973, and left this earthly life on Oct. 26, 2013, to join her Lord and Savior in heaven. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Laguna Vista in Eagle Nest, N.M. Melissa graduated from Central High School in 1991, and later moved to Eagle Nest, N.M., where she found a job doing what she loved doing the most, fly fishing. She met the love of her life, Adrian Farrell and they were married on Sept. 10, 2011. They had many plans to start their own fly fishing tours. Melissa was also a proud member of Casting for Recovery. Melissa was a very colorful person who just loved life! A "diamond in the rough" best described her personality. Like the many facets of a diamond, Melissa displayed a beautiful, polished, colorful prism of sunshine, and at the same time lived on the edge, grabbed for the brass ring, and totally lived every minute of every day to its fullest! She lived her life with passion, dedication, devotion and showed affection to those who loved her and whom she loved. She loved the great outdoors and spent many hours outside. She was always busy, wether she was fly fishing, painting, writing, or listening to music, and she would always say that every song was her favorite! Melissa was many things to many people and left a special place in the hearts of everyone who knew her. To her closest friends, she was a best friend for life, a "sister", a confidant, running buddy and companion through thick and thin. She was totally devoted to her many friendships no matter how many miles separated them and they could always count on her to be there for them. To her family, she was a devoted wife, loving daughter, loving sister, and most of all, loving mother and grandmother. Deep down inside, Melissa held her family on a pedestal and cared for them deeply. Melissa, was always so proud of her son, Mark and she felt that he was her very best accomplishment. Melissa will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. She is preceded in death by her brother, John Ralph Salter. Melissa is survived by her husband, Ady (Adrian) Farrell; her son, Mark Armijo and his fiance, Brittney Hephinger; her grandson Brenton; her mother and stepfather, Diana and John Salter; her father, Tony Armijo; a brother, Paul and his wife, Susie; her nephew, Paul Jr; niece Victoria; and her sister, Michelle and husband Mark Wheeler, along with their three children. She is also survived by her very special Auntie Viola; and a special furry friend, Knuckle; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Casting for Recovery.

Missy and I had a special connection through poetry. Every Christmas when she was in town, she would bring me a new journal and encourage me to write down my heart soul into them. I love you cousin. Thank you for all the love and memories. You are sleeping with the angels now and will be forever missed.
