Melissa Wiley Obituary
Melissa, 32, passed away on June 21, 2012, and was born Aug. 1, 1979.
She was raised in Tulelake, where she graduated valedictorian in 1997. Having received her bachelor's degree in English literature and master's degree in education at Willamette University in Salem, Ore., in 2002, Melissa began her teaching career in Phoenix, Ariz., at Santa Maria Middle School.
She is survived by her loving husband Brandon Wiley, daughter Morgan Wiley and step-daughter Jessica Wiley. Melissa was the proud mother of three beautiful children Braeden, 4, Breana, 2 1/2, and Brocc, 16 months.
As Melissa described her life on Facebook, "Potty training and teething…lots of smiles and laughs :0)." Melissa's infectious smile, big heart and love of her family and friends will be greatly missed.
She is also survived by her parents Mitzi and James Van Acker of Tulelake, sister Jenifer Van Acker of Phoenix, and brother and sister-in-law James and Cassie Van Acker of Eugene, Ore. She was also the proud auntie of her niece Addison and nephews Scott, Ismael, Emilio and James III.
Wiley Educational Fund has been set up at Sterling Savings Bank for Melissa's three young children.

My heart aches for the family. She is in a better place but that doesn't help the pain we feel as losing our the biggest part of our world. Brandon, be as strong as you can for the kids. Don't be afraid to ask for help. My prayers are with you and your family.
