Michael Gerard Abercrombie

Michael Gerard Abercrombie, 66, of Winter Haven, Fl and most recently Lynchburg, South Carolina, was called to Christ, February 8, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at the Medical University of South Carolina.

He was born in Hampton, Va. on April 20, 1956. Michael G. Abercrombie graduated from Chicora High School, Charleston, S.C. and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He held a degree from the College of the Air Force in AL in Munitions. He worked for Liquid Cargo as Director of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment. His greatest accomplishments were his devotion to the Lord and his three daughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mabel McCoig Abercrombie and Earl Walter Abercrombie, and siblings Mary Delores Abercrombie, Raymond Boyce Abercrombie, Margie Abercrombie Lain, and Benjamin Ralph Abercrombie. He is survived by his children Christina Abercrombie Wheeler (James) of Mendota, VA, Charity Abercrombie Burchett of Powhatan, VA, and Hope Elizabeth Abercrombie of Winter Haven, FL; his grandchildren Wesley Robert Patterson, Leo Ryan Burchett, Sarah Jean Wheeler, Rebecca Lynn Wheeler, and Benjamin Michael Wheeler; siblings Charles E. Abercrombie (Barbara) of Austin, TX, David Earl Abercrombie (Cheryl) of Lynchburg, SC, and Ann Abercrombie Kyle (Ted) of Weatherford, TX; special cousins Teresa McCoig Ingram of Charlotte, NC, and Megan Elizabeth Wegmann of San Francisco, CA; and special niece Karyn Abercrombie Hopkins, of Summerville, SC.

Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC at a later date.
