To the family of 1SG Michael McDonough Sr.
Words cannot express my sorrow for your loss. Early in my military career Mike was one of my platoon sergeants and then my 1st Sergeant, in Lockport. He was an excellent leader and overall great person to be around. His leadership helped guide my direction in the Army National Guard and still does to this day and I owe a lot to him for helping to direct my military career.
I will be forever grateful to have known him and served with him, he was a great man.

After high school we were classmates at Niagara University and spent many hours together in the student center. Mike was a great guy who I often thought about through the years.
