Born Sept. 22, 1922, in Meckville, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Minnie (Long) Peiffer and the widow of James R. Dixon.

She was a retired employee from the Army Air Force Exchange Services at the New Cumberland Army Depot in Fairview Township.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lehighton and a member of VFW Post 537 Ladies Auxiliary in Etters. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, gardening, reading and quilting for the Red Land Area Library, Newberry Commons.

Mrs. Dixon is survived by a daughter, Cynthia E. Teter of Etters; a son, Ronald A. Dixon of Chambersburg; two sisters, Grace Hoffman of Tamaqua and Naomi Gilman of Hellertown; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township, with Pastor David A. Yost officiating.

Friends may call from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1303 Bridge St., New Cumberland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Capital Region Unit, 1500 N. 2nd St., Harrisburg, PA 17102-2527.
