Myrna Skinner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 11, 2010.
Myrna J. Skinner

Myrna Jean Skinner, age 76, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2010. She was born August 26,
1934 in Max, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Leslie and Pearl Guy. She attended numerous schools
growing up before settling in Amsterdam, Idaho and attending Filer High School.
Myrna met her husband Sam at the Amsterdam post office and they were married on December 6,
1950. Sam fulfilled her life dream of settling down on a farm where she could make a happy, loving
home for her family. She loved every aspect of farm life from sewing to tending livestock. Together,
they raised four children. Myrna counted her family as her greatest blessing.
Myrna was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She provided
a nurturing home environment that created a strong sense of family and instilled in her children family
tradition and religious values they carried to their own families. Myrna's loving spirit will be forever with
them as well as the memories of shared picnic lunches in the hills, drives to see the fall colors in the
leaves, her canned peaches, and the many quilts she stitched in love for each of her family members.
She was an avid reader who never hesitated to share a good book. As for God's creatures great and
small, Myrna truly did love them all. Cats, dogs, geese, lambs, and llamas were just a few of her
favorites that she cared for over the years. Through her we learned discipline, love, and respect. It was
her example that is her legacy.
Myrna will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Her last days were spent in love and
peace. The family wishes to thank Idaho Home Health and Hospice.
Myrna is survived by her children: a son, Danny (Shirley) Skinner: 3 daughters, Sonia (Chuck) Wells; Susie
(Brian) Switzer; Laura (Greg) Rambo; 5 grandchildren, Corey (Heidi) Skinner, Randy (Amber) Branch,
Holly Branch, Kristy (Jerry) Forster, and Abigail Rambo; 5 great grandchildren, Mikayla, Rylee, Kylee,
Hannah, and Brady as well as two brothers, Gary and David, and a sister Margaret. She was preceded in
death by her husband Sam Skinner and parents.

A celebration of Myrna's Life will be held as a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Park, 2296 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls with Pastor Dale Metzger officiating. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls.
The family suggests memorials be given in Myrna's name to the Humane Society. Contributions may be given to funeral chapel staff or mailed to Reynolds Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1142, Twin Falls, ID 83303.
