Nancy May Watrous

Nancy Watrous SchenectadyNancy May Watrous died Thursday, June 26, 2014 as the result of a fall after years of Parkinson's Disease. Nancy was born in Schenectady, NY and was the daughter of the late Oscar H. and Edna May Nelson. She graduated from Linton High School and the University at Albany. She held multiple master's degrees from Yale Divinity School and the University at Albany. Nancy also attended Eastman School of Music and was an accomplished organist. She devoted most of her adult life to raising her family while at the same time rehabilitating rental properties. She always welcomed the opportunity to learn something new and epitomized what it means to be a lifelong learner. Nancy is survived by her husband, Elbert H. Watrous Jr., whom she married on August 27,1966. She is also survived by her children, Karen May Johnson, John Harrison Watrous (Christiane Lemieux) and Thomas Anderson Watrous (Kristen Schlansker), as well as her grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Anne Watrous, Liam Watrous, Ethan Watrous and Eleanor L. Watrous. A graveside service will be held at the Niskayuna Reformed Church Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
