Nellie Mae Fox, 95, of Fayetteville passed away at the home of her daughter Norma on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Born April 25th , 1922, she was the daughter of the late John Albert Workman and Mamie Saunders Workman.
Nellie was a homemaker, enjoyed reading, crocheting, and collecting ceramic elephants. She was also a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers John Lester, Frank Eugene, Forrest and Earl “Jack”, sisters Innus, Dorothy, Lilian, Ruth, and Melba, and one daughter Nancy Fox.
Survivors include sons Larry Fox and Richard Fox, Daughters Norma Pauley and Ray, and Sandra Mullins and Thomas. Grandchildren Cindy Raines, Micki (Johnny) Stephens, Crystal Pauley, Jessica Bates, and David Mullins, two step grandchildren, Ten Great grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Pastor Nancy Didway officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
The family will receive friends from 12 PM to 1 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dear Sandy and Norma, I am sorry for you and your family in the loss of your mother. And I know one arrives slowly to a settled memory of loved ones. You can take certain comfort in the knowledge you did what you could to ease her suffering. Peace to you all.
