Elma Ann Santos

Elma lived in Porterville as a child and attended Olive Street school and Porterville High School, before her family moved their dairy to Tulare. She was married to Manuel C. Santos Jr. in 1953 where they farmed and lived in the Strathmore area. She also worked for approximately 15 years at Poplar Locker Service as a meat wrapper. In 1982 they retired and moved to Tulare. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel, in 1985. She remained living in Tulare until her passing. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Ormonde of Tulare and Manuel Ormonde of Tulare. She is survived by 3 sisters - Mary Barcellos of Hanford, Dorothy Lemon of Tulare, and Betty Mendonca of Tulare.
She is also survived by one son, Gary Santos and his wife Maureen, of Porterville. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Leisa (Leo) Navarro, Erik (Crystal) Santos, and Kevin Santos, all of Porterville. She has two great grandchildren, Quentin Navarro and James Santos, both of Porterville.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Altar Society and Tulare Cabrillo Civic Club. She was also a member of the Strathmore "Gabby Gals", a group of neighbors who formed a social luncheon group.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North "H" Street, Tulare
St. Aloysius Altar Society will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, 4:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.
Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 E. Pleasant Ave. Tulare, with burial at Tulare District Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.
