Mrs. Ocie Moore Mack departed this life on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Bentley Commons, Senior Living Facility, in the care of Gentle Shepherd Hospice Service.
Ocie was born in Bassett, Virginia on December 6, 1938, to her late parents, Ocie J. Martin Moore and Jonah H. Moore Sr.
Ocie moved with her family to Portsmouth, Virginia at an early age and resided there until she went away to college.
Ocie was employed by Virginia State and Virginia Tech Cooperative Extension Service for 30 years as an Extension Agent with multiple positions in different units throughout the state of Virginia. She received many awards for numerous career accomplishments and volunteer work.
Ocie was an active member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church of Big Island, Virginia where she was active in many church ministries.
Ocie was also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for over 50 years, and was Primary Advisor to Sigma Iota Chapter at Lynchburg College.
Family and friends may pay their respects at Community Funeral Home in Lynchburg, Virginia on Thursday, February 11, 2021 through Saturday, February 13, 2021 during the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Covid Restriction protocols will be followed and masks required.
The Celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the Community Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Harmon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Western Virginia Chapter, located at 1022 Commerce St., Lynchburg.
