Orlando Hernandez, 29, of Port Lavaca ascended to heaven Monday, September 4, 2017 after a 5 year battle with leukemia. He was born April 24, 1988 in Port Lavaca.

Survivors include his wife, Brittany Michelle Arredondo Hernandez; daughters, Mariah Joslynn Hernandez and Jayla Josephine Hernandez; sons, Orlando Kayne Hernandez, Victor Orlando Hernandez, Jr. and Salvador Ismael Hernandez; and brother, Paul Anthony Dominguez. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anselma Marie Hernandez.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm Monday, September 11, 2017 at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Final viewing will be Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10 am at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home followed by burial in Long Mott Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Paul Dominguez, Ruben Dominguez, Miguel Dominguez, Micc Morales, Nathaniel Lopez, Richard Duran, Ricky Arredondo and Jason Perez.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Ester Pollard and the nurses and staff of Coastal Bend Oncology in Corpus Christi for their care and kindness.

I had only met Orlando a couple of times but I can tell you that he was a very special man. My sons Richard and Gabriel cared so much for him and would always tell me updates. They were both so happy when it was time for him to marry, good memories for all. So sorry his life on earth has to end this soon. He is in a much better place though and his body is complete and without pain. Pray that God will give each of you the strength to move forward. He'll always be in your heart and on your mind. God bless
