Patricia Kendall Obituary

Gardner - Patricia Kendall, 74, of Gardner, Massachusetts passed away at her home on August 21, 2022. She was born to Owen and Mozelle Galyean of Arkansas. Trisha was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard Kendall. At the time of her passing, she was survived by her sister Lana Merrill (Brad), nieces Rhonda Ray (Janice Storm) and Julia Magrath (Daniel), great niece Noelle Killion (Garrett), great nephew Noah Magrath (Delaney), great-great nieces Riley Killion and Esmay Fehr, as well as many cousins and good friends.

Trisha moved to the San Francisco Bay Area as a teenager and attended Sunnyvale High School where she was a Sunnyvale Jets cheerleader. After high school, she moved to the city of San Francisco in the mid-1960s where she and her first husband Paul Ohran had many good friends and were part of the scene as the Summer of Love unfolded. Inspired by many of the popular folk and rock artists at the time, Trisha sang and played her guitar beautifully for her friends, family, and many pets.

In the 1970s, Trisha relocated to Massachusetts where she began her long career with the US Postal Service. She was friendly, enjoyed working with the public, and loved meeting new people each day while at work. One of her customers at the Post Office, a retired Hollywood camera man named Dick Kendall, would eventually become her future husband.

In retirement, Trisha and Dick travelled around the US together, did a lot of sightseeing, and took strolls together where they admired the natural beauty of the New England area and all of the various birds and animals they encountered along the way. They had a fun, adventurous, and happy life together until Dick's passing in 2012.

Trisha's stories, music, love, and laughter will be missed by all who knew her. Those who wish to celebrate Trisha's life may consider donating in her memory to any of the charities that she supported such as the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, The Special Olympics, Greenpeace, the Nature Conservancy, or the Sierra Club.
