Patricia Spencer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 16 to Jan. 19, 2024.
Knoxville - PATRICIA BODIE SPENCER of Knoxville, Tennessee, departed this world peacefully and at home with family on January 4th, 2024.

Pat was born in Pensacola, FL, on March 11, 1938, to Homer Lee and Alene Hughen Bodie. She moved to Knoxville in 1975. Pat saw 85 beautiful years on this earth, and will be remembered as the most wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Spending time with family was always her favorite activity. Pat also enjoyed gardening, fishing for bluegill on Douglas Lake, sitting in her rocking chair at Watts Bar Lake, playing a game of Bridge or Spades, caring for her beloved Yorkshire Terriers, and cheering on her Vols in all sports.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Aaron, Billy, Harold "Lawson," and H. Jerry Bodie; sister, June Mackey; and son Robert Spencer. She is survived by her "Golden Girls" sisters, Marilyn Moore of Knoxville and Joyce Digmon of Prattville, AL; and sister-in-law Brenda Bodie; as well as her loving daughter Stephanie Spencer Carroll, grandsons Trey and Spencer Carroll (Katie), and great-granddaughter Ophelia Carroll all of Knoxville; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She also had a very special place in her heart for her "outlaws" James Robert Spencer and Carey Carroll, Jr.

Following her wishes, Pat is to be cremated and interred with her sons in Milton, Florida. In lieu of a funeral service, please stop in from 12:00 to 3:00 on Saturday January 27, 2024 for a receiving of friends, lunch and celebration of life gathering at the Meadows Clubhouse located at 7914 Gleason Road, Knoxville, TN.
