I have been trying to deny to myself that my Godfather has passed on and with him goes a part of my childhood. This has prevented me from being able to express my condolences and sympathy to my Aunt and Cousins in a timely fashion for which I apologize to you. I have selfishly indulged myself in memories of many, many visits with you both as a child and as an adult with my own family in Winnipeg and in Vancouver. I will miss him. My thoughts and love are with you all.

I remember my Uncle Peter always having a mischievous smile, a glint in his eye and a very kind heart. In the past few days, I have reflected on past memories of my uncle during the many times we met and talked throughout the years. I was pleased that on one of his last visits to Winnipeg he was able to meet my wife Peggy. After we left I remember her saying how easy and friendly my uncle was to visit with. I replied – “That’s my Uncle Peter, I hope he didn’t tease you too much”.
Our sincere condolences go out to Aunt Vicki, Virginia, Gary & Debra, Kathleen & Bill and all the grandchildren.

My deepest sympathy to you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. We asked Fr. Ron to celebrate Mass for your Father Kathleen on Thursday. Jim and I attended. I would like to leave this small reflection which was given to me when my own father died suddenly. It has been a source of comfort for me and perhaps it can be for you.
" Nothing can make up for the absence of someone we love and it would be wrong to try to find a sbustitute; we must simply hold out and see it through. That sounds very hard at first, but at the same time it is a great consolation, for the gap, as long as it remains unfilled, preserves the bond between us" D. Bonhoeffer
Take care of yourselves and know you are loving remembered at this time.

Uncle Peter, I will miss our long conversations, your sense of humour and your positive demeanor.
At a young age you introduced me to shingling a roof, showed me how to grow a garden and make a brick fireplace. I will never forget the fun times with you and Aunt Vicky at the cottage.
My precious memories of you will last forever.

We will miss you Uncle Peter. What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal. You have touched our lives forever with happy and caring memories.

I miss you and remember you with great affection and fond memories. There are the wonderful memories as a child visiting you and Aunt Vicky. Later, I was fortunate to be able to see you again. It felt like being at home when I stayed with you on my visits to Vancouver. Your warmth, wit, conversation and smile were never ending. I missed you and Aunty Vicky very much after you moved. I think of you every time I visit Vancouver, and now I, Linda and Tyler will miss you forever.

Uncle Peter, rest in peace now. Your pain is over and you can be in the arms of your beloved family members forever who have passed on before you. My memories of you are all happy ones, and I will remember the last hug you gave me. I love you with all my heart. And I know that one day we will meet again. You have earned your wings with the highest respect of the angels. To Aunty Vikki, Garry & Debra, Kathleen & Bill, Virginia and all the grandchildren. My loving thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Your easy smile, light hearted teasing and laughter at every family occasion, made me proud to call you my uncle. Sadness has no place in your memory, so I will smile everytime I think of you. I know you are in the arms of an angel....
