Paul HERWEYER Obituary
Retired Gloucester Firefighter
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Herweyer of Leitrim on Saturday, June 2, 2012 after an extended illness at the age of 56 years. He leaves behind three loving sons, Paul jr. (Dawn and grandson Owen), Cory and Bradley. He will be missed by his parents John and Willy, siblings Marianne (Jake Vedder), Rob (Judith), Ed (Beth), Don (Anita) Annette (James McRitchie) and many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his kids and friends and had a passion
for helping others including many hours keeping family and friends vehicles on the road. Paul also volunteered with Leitrim Minor Hockey and many of the boy's sports teams. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home, 6971 Bank St.(between Scrivens Dr. and Metcalfe corner) on Wednesday from
5-9 p.m. Further services will be private. If desired, donations in Paul's memory made to the CHEO Foundation or Roger's House would be appreciated by the family.

Sadly we say good-bye to our long-time friend, who's left us far too soon. We recall with a smile the fun we had camping, fishing, travelling down to NY State, and boating with Paul Jr and our own son, Paul, when they were young. Paul was a great Dad to his boys and definitely one of the good guys. Our friendship continued long past those youthful times, just as it did the many years of camaraderie on the Gloucester Fire Department.
So many memories...

I remember taking my first car to Paul to make sure it wasn't a dud before I bought it. As a young 20-something who knew nothing about cars, I certainly appreciated his advice! Thinking of and praying for all of Paul's family during this very sad time.
