Peter MALCOLM

MALCOLM, Peter Lynn January 14, 1937 - September 11, 2019 Peacefully and comfortably, entered into rest in the ""Butterfly Room"" at Hardy Terrace, Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Hagersville. Born in Brantford and raised in Galt. The eldest son of the late Bob and Audrey (Roadhouse), and brother of the late Doug. Survived and loved by his wife and very best friend Rhoda Ann (Durham) for 53 years, son-in-law of the late Earl & Eileen. Loved and respected dad of Rob and Cheryl, and Scott. Loving grandpa of Cody and Emily, Cole, Wesley, and great-grandpa to Annie. Sister-in-law Caitlin Odlozinski, and uncle of Kim, David, Ben, James, Gordon, and Robert. Cousin of Rod and Sheila. Growing up in Galt he played city minor league and school sports. Was a member of the Karry-on-Kids neighbourhood group that had fun entertaining people, to make money for the ""War Effort"". He enjoyed performing at high school assemblies, and PTA meetings with jokes and doing bird calls. ""Mad"" magazine and ""Norman Rockwell"" paintings were his favourites. He attended Ryerson Institute of Technology in the Radio and T.V. arts program, but health issues got in the way, and in April 1966, began a career with the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services at White Oaks village, working with the junior boys at the Ontario Training School for Boys in Hagersville, to adult After-Care and lastly to juvenile probation at offices in Cayuga and in Hamilton, for 25 years. He was a member of the Hagersville United Church and has been a member of the Session, C.E. Committee and assistant teacher of the Senior Sunday School class over the years. The family will honour his life with visitation at the Hyde and Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main St. S., Hagersville Monday from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Hagersville United Church, 34 Main St. S., Hagersville Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 1 p.m. (visiting one hour prior). Interment Hagersville Cemetery. If you wish, please honour him by doing a ""Surprise"" good deed for someone or make a donation to the ""end of life"" ""Butterfly team"" at Hardy Terrace or to the charity closest to your heart. Special thanks to Dr. Adrian Upton, Neurology Dept., Hamilton Health Sciences Centre, for all of his expertise and funny stories over the past many years, as well as all the other medical people who crossed his path. Friends at Hardy Terrace - a simple ""thank you"" doesn't seem enough, but its sincere and from the heart.
