I was thinking of Randy today and wanted to say he was such a light in Baltimore. I did research with him for a few summers at Hopkins as a medical student. I stayed at Hopkins for residency in no small part to a reference letter from him supporting my application. We kept in touch for 10 years before I moved away from Baltimore- but we became good friends and he was a Groomsman at my wedding in 1993. You raised a good one here.

To Randy's family,
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Randy, I didn't even know that he was sick. I met him whitewater rafting in the Grand Canyon in 2004 and was glad to reconnect again in 2007. He was such an inspiring person and so much fun to be around. I was looking forward to rafting with him again in 2010 and hearing about all of his adventures around the world. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. The world has truly lost an amazing person.

Debbie, I was so sorry to hear of Randy's illness and death. He was quite an accomplished and successful person and will be missed. I have lots of memories from the days at ARC but my most vivid is of him "walking" up the beach from Daytona to Myrtle Beach.....with such a huge smile as only Randy always had on his face!!
My prayers to you and your family....

Debbie & Billy,
I wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers today. I have such fond memories of Randy from Richmond Academy. He was such a bright light in this world, and I will never forget him. You must be so proud of his accomplishments, but not surprised. All of us knew that he was special!
May God continue to bless and comfort you in the days ahead.
Love,
Nancy

We knew and loved Randy at veterinary school in Athens--what good times Johnny and I had with them.

Dear Debbie, Bill, and family,
It was with great sadness that I learned of our loss of "Randy". He, as I had said before, was an old friend, and, my very first football coach at A.Brian Merry school. I guess for an eleven year old to always, and with such great admiration, remember a grammar football coach even now speaks as to the positive effect and outlook he had in our young lives.
Later, it was really good to be re-acquainted with him through you and Bill, and I will always appreciate that opportunity. He was absolutely one of "the good guys"!!!
I will miss him and I will pray for all of you at this time; where he has gone, he needs no prayers, but knows we miss him.
Most sincerely,
Bert Hall
