Priscilla Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 25, 2022.
Priscilla Rae Moore passed on February 2, 2022 (2/2/22) at the age of 86. Priscilla was survived by her four children and nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Priscilla was the youngest of two daughters. Priscilla was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on September 6, 1935. Priscilla's parents were Ray and China Winklepleck. Priscilla's mother died in a car accident when Priscilla was just 6 years old on a Memorial Day Weekend. Thereafter, she was raised by her father and close friend, Aunt Mame. During her early years, Priscilla lived on the farm and was often found climbing trees and roofs or spending time with the animals. One time, Priscilla's father had to rescue Priscilla from a female hog aggressively protecting her piglets after she fell in the pig pen. Priscilla loved living on the farm. Even during her final days she thought back to her days on the farm.

Priscilla was a competitive rifle markswoman while in Indiana. Priscilla graduated with an AA degree from University of Indiana. Priscilla liked to swim and was an accomplished diver.

Priscilla moved from Indiana to Denver, Co around 1956. Priscilla gave birth to her two sons, David and Terrence and her first daughter, Kelly, in Denver. While in Denver, Priscilla worked as an bookkeeper and secretary. Priscilla also worked for an oil company in Denver. Priscilla learned the lost art of shorthand and used it the rest of her life. Thereafter, Priscilla moved to Hollywood, CA with her husband, Robert Moore and had her youngest daughter Shannon. Priscilla remained in Southern California the rest of her life.

Priscilla became a single mother of four children, in or about 1968. Priscilla quickly entered the working field again. Priscilla began as a cashier at Crestview Cadillac in West Covina, CA. Priscilla continued in the automotive business until her retirement 39 years later. In or about 1991, Priscilla moved to La Quinta, CA to work for Palm Springs Motors. While at Palm Springs Motors, Priscilla advanced to Business Manager at Palm Springs Motors. At the time there were only about 5 female business managers in the automotive industry in California. She worked at Palm Springs Motors until her retirement at the age of 70. After she left Palm Springs Motors, her job was filled by two people as one person could not complete all of Priscilla's tasks. After retiring, Priscilla worked part time for Doug Motz and made several close friends while working there.

Priscilla traveled with her children often, including trips & adventures to Alaska, Mammoth, Big Bear, Boston, Vancouver (Canada), Cancun, Venezuela and many other places. Priscilla got involved in camping when her children were young and passed the love of camping on to her children.

Earlier Priscilla was very active in the single's group at Covina First Baptist. Priscilla made many lifelong friends at Covina First Baptist.

Priscilla's legacy includes her four children and their spouses, David and his wife Roxanne, Terrence and his wife Nadia, Kelly and her husband Mike and Shannon and her husband, "Bear". Priscilla's legacy continues with her grandchildren, Cherie, Sherri, Candace, Jeanni, Peter, Steven, Jessica, Chris and Gregory, and great grandchildren, William, Delanie, Alina & Alexandria. There are more on the way. Priscilla never ever missed any of her grandchildren and great grandchildren birthdays.

Priscilla enjoyed living in the Desert and enjoyed her retirement years in La Quinta, Ca. making many special and close friends in the Desert. One of her closet friends after being told that Priscilla had passed stated…. "you don't realize how much I personally hurt. I lost a dear friend. Priscilla was a remarkable lady. Though we thought it best not get together for our monthly Carl's Jr. lunches once Covid started, we spoke often on the phone (sometimes more than once in a day, as Priscilla couldn't remember if she had called me or vice versa). That always got a giggle out of her. She knew her condition was something we could find humor in. I want you all to know she was very proud of all her children."

Priscilla always had a positive attitude and a bounce in her step, even after her hip surgery. Priscilla will be missed immensely. There will never be another Priscilla. There will never be another person who touched so many lives. We will miss you Mom. We miss your voice. Rest in Peace. Soar with the Angels! See you later.
Services for our Loving Mom, will be April 8th, at the Moorten Botanical Garden in Palm Springs, CA., from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, located at 1701 S Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264

Priscilla was a beautiful human being. We had the fortune to share some special times with her, in her trip to Venezuela and later in California. Her sweet voice, smile and warmth, like we knew her from always. Our prayers go to her and the family. She is in a better place. Godbless her and all the family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Pricilla when her grandson Gregory Aikins was graduating from High School. I knew immediately that she was a beautiful soul filled with a joyous spirit. She was kind and interesting and I truly enjoyed the stimulating conversation we shared. Pricilla beamed with much deserved pride when she spoke of her family and I felt how she truly loved and honored their accomplishments. I was so blessed to have met and spent a few hours enjoying Pricilla´s bright presence. I am confident that her family, friends, and all who encountered Pricilla along her journey through this life will forever miss her and will always hold closely in their hearts the special memories of time shared with her.

I still think of you everyday and will do so the rest of my life. I had somebody tell me that losing a mother is the "worst". They are right. I am glad we spent time together, went on trips and had a close relationship. I am disappointed we were separated for so long by Covid. I have many vivid great memories of you in my head. I love you and miss you.
