Ramon Salazar Obituary
Peoria: Ramon Garza Salazar, 80, of Peoria passed away at 4:11 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side.
Ramon was born on November 26, 1933 in Del Rio, TX, the son of Alberto and Feliz Garza Salazar. He married Sandra Johnson.
He is survived by his children, Roberto (Susan) of Virginia, Ramon II (Michelle) of Peoria, Marta (Chuck)Bennett of Peoria Heights, and Raul (Eleanor) of Kahului, HI; ten grandchildren, Misty (Frank) Mashione, Elisa (James) Head, Jade Salazar, Cris Bennett, Cody Bennett, Camryn Salazar, Cali Salazar, Chloe Salazar, Ramon Salazar III, Maya Salazar; three great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Mashione,, Kassie Mashione, and Alexendra Head; one brother, Pablo (Carolina) Salazar of Del Rio, TX; and his caregiver, Diana Ghert.
Ramon was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Beto and Jose.
He was a welder for Peoria and Pekin Union Railroad until his retirement in 1991.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

I'd like to thank the Salazar family for allowing me to be part of Ramon Sr. Last several months. I enjoyed taking care of Ramon and loved him dearly. I'll miss the dances to the kitchen in the mornings
