Ramona Ojeda Malabe Rivera was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico on October 17, 1928 to Juan Ojeda & Leonor Malabe. She was the youngest of her siblings: Louis, Angelita, Delia,Orlando, Georgina (Gina)& Nestor (Talí)

At seven years of age her family moved from PR to NYC, where she attended elementary school. Through her adolescence & as a young adult she enjoyed singing, dancing and live music. She was a free spirit and enjoyed living her life to the fullest, as a people person and the Life of the party. She was greatly loved by her family & friends.

At 22 years of age, she married Emilio C Rivera and gave birth to daughters: Eleanor and Ramona; whom she loved unconditionally & dedicated her life to them. She is survived by her two daughters: Eleanor & Ramona and Grandchildren: Elliesha,
Pedro Emilio & Juan Orlando.

In her early 30’s, she became widowed & persevered to overcome any obstacle as a single parent. Shortly after the death of her husband, she moved and relocated from NYC to Puerto Rico her home for over 50 yrs. In her mid 80’s, she relocated to New York City to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren; where she resided with her youngest daughter Ramona & husband, Pedro Adorno.

In New York City she occupied her time at the local Senior Center where she developed the love and passion of art and painting.

In her final years she then relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida; where she enjoyed living on the beach, in the warm climate, with the sun & ocean, by the seashore; where she learned how to fish with her son-in-law Pete & caught a fish, checking off fishing from her bucket list.

She will eternally be remembered by all of her loved ones, family friends and neighbors, as the shining Light that she was in life.

Love you Monin, you’ll definitely be missed by me. So glad I had the opportunity to see you in November 2022. Before you went on your voyage.

I have wonderful memories of times spent with Monin, especially in PR when we were teenagers and thinking we were slick.she was much slicker! I will always remember her wit and sense of humora real and fun person to be aroundfull of love for her daughters and a passion for life well lived❣
