I have known Brother Dick Gingerich for many years as a friend and a fellow Trade Unionist, I worked on many occasions with Dick in Ottawa when he was Secretary of the CBRT&GW, the only Canadian based Railway Union representing employees on the Canadian National. I have fond memories of the time my wife Iris and I spent some time in England with Dick and his wife Jean, as guests of the UK National Union of Railway Workers. Dick had a mind of his own as Secretary of the CBRT&GW, he operated as if he owned the Union building in Ottawa, he always took his job seriously and always in the intrest of the members he served. Dick was respected by all who came in contact with him, he served his Union well and wherever Dick is now he will be looking to improve the lot of his fellow members. My wife Iris and I send our deepest and heart felt synpathies to Dick's wife Jean and the Gingerich family on their lose
