Like Melissa Holt (previous message), I knew Dick through Process Work New England. Even after that group was no longer active, Dick and I and mutual a friend, Barnes, continued for a while to meet approximately quarterly for lunch. It was good to be able to attend Dick´s funeral at St. John´s, where one speaker spoke of how "analytical" he had been. Dick became a lawyer in his home state of Oklahoma, came to Harvard for an MBA, and much later in life got an MSW from BU. Dick and I spent a lot of time together riding in his light blue Honda between the Morth Shore and Peterboro, NH. I knew it wasn´t fruitful to get into theological/religious discussions with him, but twice I remember referring to "God." Both times he responded "...if you want to hypothesize a God," to which I replied each time, "Dick, I think it is God who hypothesizes us, not we who hypothesize God." Nothing in reply. A draw, I think. Duelling world-views. God (with respect to Dick: "if there be God") bless you, my friend.

I was privileged to know Dick through our involvement in Process Work during the 1980s and 90s. We had an ongoing gag about how it was good sit together at workshops in each other's auras.

Dick continues to be an inspiration to me in my life. He taught me that it is never too late to learn something new in the service of others. I am sad that he has passed, but glad that I had a chance to know him in this life.

Much love and God speed my friend!
