Died peacefully on Sunday, August 19, 2018, surrounded by his family. Age 79, of Swissvale. Beloved husband of 55 years to Cecilia (Trybus); loving father of Robert F. Balogh and his wife, Diane; Roxanne Jendrzejewski; and Rhonda Lincoln and her husband, Chad; dear grandfather of Amanda and her husband, Josh; and Anthony; great-grandfather of Eva Marie; brother of Sandra L. Balogh Petro. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Anna Mae Balogh; brothers, James E. and Lloyd T.; and a sister, Barbara Ann Irwin. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Church, a veteran of the US Army, and worked as a welder at US Steel for 35 years. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., WEDNESDAY ONLY at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating his life will be held on his 80th birthday at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Braddock Hills, on Thursday at 12 noon, followed by interment at the Braddock Catholic Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers may do so at the Lewy Body Dementia Association, www.lbda.org or Catholic Hospice and Palliative Services at www.catholichospicepgh.org.
