Robert DE HAAN Obituary
On July 28, 2015, Rob passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 54 years.
Rob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years Gail, son Brendon, daughter Annalise, brothers; Gerrit (Cinde) Eddy, Gus (Paulette), and sister Violet. A special thank-you to mother-in-law Doris, and sisters-in-law Dawn and Caron and their families for their support. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Joyce.
Rob will be remembered as a great Dad, Husband, Firefighter, Car Buff, and Sports Fan Extraordinare.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Huber, his staff and Palliative Care Team.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday August 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Chapel at 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton, AB, with interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to YWCA Disability Adult Services or [email protected].

On behalf of the Edmonton FireFighters Memorial Society, Please accept our deepest condolences on Rob's passing.
He will be missed greatly. I had the privilege of working with Rob when I was a rookie and he was my senior man. I remember a patient man who always took the time to show me how to do things properly!
We want to give your family time to grieve your loss but if you could please mark Friday Sept 11th 2016 on your calendar, as that will be the day of our Annual Remembrance Ceremony.
It will be the day that we remember all those members that we have lost in the past year.
It is also a very special ceremony as we have the family members of those members involved in the event itself.
It gives us all a chance to say goodbye and it helps with the closure as well.
If I could have a family member to contact me at 780-619-1564 or at [email protected] then I can get back to them and we can talk about arrangements for next years ceremony.
In closing, please accept our deepest condolences on your loss and know that Rob will be missed by all of us greatly.

Please accept my deepest condolences I went to school with Rob's younger brother Gus but hung around with Rob a bit. I can still see him crushing by every store window just so he could see his beautiful white Nova's reflection I guess he never lost his love for cars or hockey.
