Robert Dunbar passed away October 11, 2014 at the age of 95. Robert was married to Beulah, the love of his life, for 61 years. Shortly after they married, Robert joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and became a Flight Lieutenant, teaching other young men to fly for their country. His brother Ronald was killed in action at the age of 19. Robert honoured his brother in 2005 by placing a plaque at Dunbar Point, named for his brother, on Lac la Ronge in Northern Saskatchewan. Following the war, Bob became an accountant, successfully establishing his own business and careers for sons Ronald and Howard. Bob's lifelong passion was golf. He played at several Calgary clubs and in 1983 was a member of the Canadian Team who won the World Seniors Golf International Team Championship. Bob's life and business dealings were characterized by absolute integrity and his children feel blessed to have had him as a role model. Bob and Beulah raised four children: Robert Jr, Ronald, Laurie and Howard. Sadly, Beulah passed away in 2003 and son Howard followed in 2009. Despite these losses, Bob continued to greet each day with a smile and viewed his twice- daily walks as preparation for that next game of golf. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children Bob Jr, Ron and Laurie; daughter- in-law Bonnie; grandchildren Bruce (and wife Kathy), Murray (and wife Leslie), Cyrena, Katie and Maya; and great-grandchildren Michael, Natalia, Daya, Riley, Alexa, Xavier and Malcolm. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Pamela Tecson and her family for all their love, care, and support as Bob's health declined over the last two years. The family also wishes to thank Pat and Lisa at the Kidney Clinic, Dr. Pandya and Hope, and all the staff at Southwood Hospice for their kindness and unfailing support.
