I will always remember Bobby, AKA Porky~ A great man, a leader of men, a compassionate caring person, salt of the earth filled with laughter, love and hope.
He love to tell me about his beautiful family, his wife Mary his daughters and his grandchildren, how blessed he was to have his wife's support.
There is also morning firefighting community he also love to brag about which he loved to with honor and strength.
All who served with this great Man are better public servants because of his leadership and care for them.
Here are a few treasured personal memories from yester years when we were in school.
Bobby and I played CYO Basketball, handball, Tackle football behind Great Neck Road school covered in mud with ripped jeans, bloody knees, elbows and a few loose teeth whenever I played against him.
He was a fierce competitor and passionate with everything he did.
Bobby and my cousin Jo Ann Crothers were faithful fundraisers for Our Lady of Assunption Church where faithfully attended and served as an Usher caring for the work of God at OLA and the pastoral leadership.
I will miss his smile, jokes, high fives and hugs.
Lastly I will always recall the day he and his crew of courageous firefighters arrived with lights and sirens to my home.
I wasn't home at the time when my wife had a working grease fire in the kitchen. She so was upset and frightened when Chief McGrath our friend said "relax what are you so upset about we got this, is anyone else in the house, stand behind me."
Dawn was always a big fan of our colorful caring friend, she often tells the story how she was rescued by Chief of The Copiague Fire Department.
We pray for his precious wife Mary. May she, her girls and grandchildren and all who loved Bobby find comfort knowing we will meet again one day in the presence of Our Lord Jesus and be reunited with his contagious big smile.

Our family will always miss Bob. He was a funny and exceptionally giving person. We are blessed to have been a part of his life as well as yours Mary and Colleen and Kelly. We are fortunate to have so many good memories of him. And in the future, I know there will be many times that someone will bring up something funny Bob had said or did in the past and he will make us laugh again. He will always be with us.
