Robert Walsh

Walsh, Robert Robert D. of Grand Rapids, passed away on September 1, 2022 at the age of 84, following an extended illness. Robert was born in Grand Haven and loved West Michigan. He was a Graduate of Michigan State University and Lettered on the Golf Team. An avid golfer, Bob earned many accolades, Spring Lake CC Champion, a Fort Hood Trophy, brief time on the Pro Tour and a Club Professional. He loved and cared for nature and all creatures large and small, never without a dog or two by his side. Hobbies included landscaping, gardening, wine tasting tours, traveling to Northern Michigan and the Florida Coast. Robert was preceded in death by his brother George. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cyndy, two daughters, Amberlee (Mark) McCloud of Holt and Tara (Michael) Stump of Eaton Rapids, four grandchildren Rylee Gatien, Collin Gatien, Jonah (Rachel) Gatien and Seth Nichols; and his sister-in-law Pat Walsh. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 8, from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home, with a memorial service to be held on Friday, September 9, at 11am at the Church of the Dunes, 717 Sheldon Road, Grand Haven, MI. . Contributions can be made to Leelanau Conservancy or MacKenzies Animal Sanctuary. The family would like to thank Fountain View and Emmanuel Hospice for their love and care for Robert.
