Robert G. Worden

Robert "Bob" G. Worden, 86, Bluffton, passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at Signature Care. He was born in Craigville Feb. 25, 1931 to the late Richard and Devona Worden.
Bob graduated in 1949 from Lancaster High School, where he played basketball for the Bobcats. He owned and operated Worden Construction for 26 years. He spent time fishing in Canada, Lake Erie and in his own backyard ponds. In his later years, he enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and framing them for gifts. Bob was an avid Cubs Fan and finally got to witness a World Series win! He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bluffton.
Among survivors are his wife of 66 years, Bonnie L. (Huss) Worden. They were blessed with five children, Michael (Ronda) of Indianapolis, Gary (Terri) of Brownsburg, Doug (Jill) of Bluffton, Kathy (Mike) Nahrwold of Ossian and Neal of Bluffton; brother, William, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 325 W. Washington St., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Steve Bard will officiate and burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Friday at Thoma/ Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton.
