I served with Ron in the Air Force. Saw him once at the VA in Milwaukee after some surgery. I've tried for years to find him, sorry I am late. He was a fine man, great sense of humor, and a stinky pipe. He is missed.

I received a poem today from a really good friend of mine. I thought it would be nice to share it with everyone.

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond's glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.

I miss you, Dad!

Uncle Ron was our family hero! He never missed a family event--always came to every wedding, baptism, funeral for all the Ehmann cousins here in TX. We have so many fond memories of him. He gave us our 1st helicopter ride as kids when we visited him in Greenbay. He will be missed!

I always enjoyed sitting around and listening to my father and Uncle Ronnie talk about and fix all of life's issues. Cheryl, Jodi, Nadine and family, you have my deepest condolences and I hope to see you if you get back up here to Wis. We are thinking of you all.

Terry, I can certainly relate to your loss.My heart is with you and your family. The good memories will see you through. I saw you cared so much for him. Circumstances have made it impossible to attend his service. Peace be with you all.

Cheryl & Jodi, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. As one of several foster kids, I will forever remember your Dad's kindness to me,a mixed-up teenager. When my prom date dumped me, Ron decided that an impromptu plane ride would be good medicine for my aching heart, and he was certainly right! I'll forever appreciate the time and effort that your Dad made for me in that very rough period. This I'm sure is just one of many tales to be told of Ron's big heart. He will be missed.

I never had a chance to meet Jodi’s dad, but I know his daughter well. Jodi always talked about him, and how proud she was of him as a dad, and as a veteran who served his country with honor. In her, he has left a legacy of the man he must have been – kind, thoughtful, generous, fun-loving, family-oriented, and a loyal friend. Mike and I extend our sympathy to all of Ron’s family.

Ron and I flew many missions together in
Vietnam. And even though we haven't
seen each other in many years....the
memories have always been there. In fact, there is a picture in our kitchen above the calendar of
Michael (another friend) , Ron, and myself...a constant reminder of the
good times and my good friend, Ron.

I was fortunate to see my uncle when he came to Wisconsin last fall. He always visited the family with a smile and laughter. His life was extraordinary and he will be in our hearts and minds forever.

As a youngster, I fondly recall many times spent with Ron and his family when visiting with Gma and Gpa Ehmann. I loved driving in the northwoods to visit them and the adventures with Gma and Gpa. Cheryl and her mom were fun to be around. Ron always had lots of funny stories of his adventures. I also recall many dear hunting and Thanksgiving parties with the Ehmann household at Gma and Gpa's, with all the Ehmann relatives. What fun times they were.
Rest in peace Uncle Ron.
You will live on in our memories.
