Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 16, 2008.
Rose Gallo Bordonaro, 88 of Beaumont died March 14, 2008 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. The woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. (Proverbs 31:30b) Born the youngest of six children of Italian immigrant parents, Rose Gallo Bordonaro lived in Beaumont, Texas. She was employed for many years at Continental Can Company and later at Lamar University. She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church and the Italian American Society. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bordonaro, Sr.; sisters, Katherine Ross, Bessie Bond, Angelina (Jean) Reed, and Jennie Vessel; and brother, Dominic Gallo, Sr. She is survived by her stepson, Frank Bordonaro, Jr. and his wife Terri and their children, Angela Johnson, Kevin Bordonaro, Cheryl Jackson and Shelly Martin; nieces, Mary Stinebrickner, JoAnn Thornton, Mary Waugh, Pat Davis, Anna McCuistion, Mary Gallo, Betty Jo White, and Alice Zambardino; nephews, Sam Brocato, Charles Brocato, Al Reed, John Vessel, and Dominic Gallo, Jr.; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Aunt Rose, as she was well known by many, touched the lives of everyone she met. Her love of family and friends was surpassed only by her love of church and God. She was a caring person who welcomed neighbors, friends, and family into her heart and her home at every opportunity. She will be sorley missed. We, her family would like to take this time to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Suresh Indupalli, Dr. Helen Ruth Speil, the staff of Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital Emergency Room, CV-ICU, and especially the nurses and aids of the 4th floor who labored tirelessly to give our dear aunt a gracious and dignified departure from this life to eternity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 17, 2008 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive. A Rosary will be recited 4:30 P.M. Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the mortuary with visitation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
