ROSEHELEN (TINKY) COWEN lived a long life, filled with love and laughter. Anyone who came in contact with her was able to experience her big heart and sassy attitude. She was born on June 13, 1932, in Bermuda, where her father was the lighthouse keeper. She was the only daughter and had three brothers.Rosehelen enjoyed being a banker in her later teens. She married a military man and came to America to become a citizen; and moved to Texas. She had two children, Greg, and Kathy, and continued her banking career. She moved back to Bermuda, after her children grown, and lived with Kathy. She helped Kathy with her three kids, Ronald, James, and Robert, and became an 'adopted' grandma to many swimmers. In 2001, She moved back to Texas with grandsons, Ron, and Robert, and moved in with Greg and his family. Her daughter, Kathy passed away in 2015, so she then moved in with Robert and his family. She cared for her great grands as much or more than she was cared for; and became best friends with her great granddaughter, Keeley.Rosehelen lived to be 89 years old and enjoyed living her life caring for others especially blood-related and 'adopted' grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was able to keep a super close relationship with her brother, Ted, up until the day she passed. She loved being at the beach, gardening, and lighthouses; she could talk about any of them for hours! On October 10, 2021, she passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones and is now walking on heaven's shores. Rosehelen was a special lady that will be greatly missed.Rosehelen is survived by her son Gregory Mikus; grandchildren Stephanie, Sarah and Jesse Mikus, Ron Cowen and his wife Cynthia, James Cowen, Robert Cowen and his wife Angela; great grandchildren Samuel, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Javid, Muri, and her best friend Keeley and Kaylynn; brother Ted Cowen; She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Cowen, sister-in-law Patsy Cowen, brothers Edwin and Wyndham (Toppy) Cowen. In Texas, the family will receive friends for a visitation Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 5.00 - 7.00pm at Allen Family Funeral Options. There will be a graveside service and she will be laid to rest next to her daughter at Annette Cemetery in Annette, Texas on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 2.00pm, officiated by her brother Rev. Ted Cowen. The family requests that you please wear something yellow to the visitation and the graveside service to celebrate Nan, as it was her favorite color. (It can be a ribbon, socks, nail polish, etc.)In lieu of flowers, plant something in honor of her. Take a picture with the town, city, or country and who it is from somewhere in the pictures then send it to the family at [email protected] so we can make an album to have sweet memories of all the lives she impacted.

Dear Ronald, James and Robert,

So sorry to hear that Rosehelen has passed away. Have fond memories of the three of you and Timothy swimming in pool and getting into mischief at your grannies.

Love to you all Judy & Timothy Khoo

Aunt Tink as she was affectionately known, lived on Lighthouse Hill with her family...I thank you her family for sharing her with my sons and their mother...My sons were raised with her grandchildren and they loved her family so very much..Because one of her grandsons was involved in swimming as was one of my sons, she often had the duty of taking them to swim meets...She showed that grandmother support and afftion when my son's race did not go so well. She would be poolside to wrap a warm towel around him when he came out of the pool and console him to do better next time...She was another grandmother to my sons...To her family, may the God of Heaven hold you all close as you go thru this period of bereavment...May Aunt Tink rest in eternal peace...

May God bless and keep you Tinky. The last time I saw you was when I taught you to drive in Edwin's car, Austin Devon, licence 6065. You once sold movie tickets at Raynor's Hall. I spent a lot of time in the lighthouse when your father Rudy,Will White, and Johnny Baptist were lighthouse keepers. All of the folks on Lighthouse Hill and surrounding area are all etched in my memory. Thank God that I don't have memory loss at age 92. I can hear Reverend R. O. Walker at St. Anne's saying, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away". May God comfort all who are mourning Rosehelen. Childhood friend Boozie

To The Family of Rosehelen, sending you my sincere condolences.
I had the pleasure of working with her at the Bank of Butterfield for several years. What fun she was. To know her was to love her and she is one who will not be easily forgotten.
Truly her life was well lived.
