Roy WEBB Obituary

Published by Regina Leader-Post from May 29 to May 30, 2015.
Roy Alvin Webb
Long-time resident of Regina
November 11, 1918 to February 21, 2015
On February 21, 2015 Roy passed away in his 96th year with family members by his side. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen, his parents, Wilbert and Laura, his brothers, Ross, Les, Carl, Dennis, and his infant daughter, Joanne. Left to mourn are Roy's children, Robert (Shirley), Beverly (Ray), Charles (Patricia), grandchildren, Andrew, Stephen (Julian), Sarah (Adam), Erin (Wendell), Matthew (Paula), Kirsten (Jon), eight great-grandchildren and his sister, Joy. Roy was born to a pioneering farm family in Glenavon, SK., where he attended Primrose School. Roy led a rich and varied life starting out as a journeyman blacksmith and welder in Rainy River, ON., then joining the RCAF in 1940 where he served until the end of the war in 1945. After the war he had his own heating and plumbing business, later he became a gas furnace inspector for the City of Regina and ultimately a real estate agent. In 1968 Roy earned a university degree as a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute (FRI) even as his work life continued to be busy and successful. When "retirement" came Roy and his wife, Helen, became even more involved in the activities of Rosemount United Church, he was a hospital volunteer, a driver for Meals on Wheels and he drove cancer patients to their appointments. Roy was a loving father, generous grandfather, doting great-grandfather, friend and brother. He will be missed, but his family is comforted by the fact that he is now with the Lord. Please join us in a celebration of Roy's life to be held at the Lighthouse to All Nations Church, 686 Pasqua Street, Regina, 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015.
