Ryan Kirk

Ryan Russell Kirk, age 42, of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on August 6, 1981, Ryan was an accomplished lawyer, dedicated teacher, and devoted father. He earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from The University of Chicago Law School in 2010 and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Economics, Finance, and Management from the University of South Carolina in 2003. Ryan's professional career included roles as an associate attorney at Garfunkel Wild, P.C., and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he provided legal counsel to healthcare entities and represented clients in corporate matters.

Ryan's commitment to service extended beyond his legal career. He volunteered as a legal advocate with Asylum Access in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, assisting refugees in securing their rights. His passion for education led him to teach English at Deyang No. 5 Middle School in China and serve as a high school social studies teacher at Scarsdale High School and Mount Vernon High School from 2016 to 2021.

Above all else, Ryan cherished his role as a father to his two young daughters, Amaya (5) and Anna (3). He embraced fatherhood with boundless love and joy, creating lasting memories filled with wonder for his children.

Ryan was a beloved member of the Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation in White Plains, NY. His warmth and presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Paige Conn; his mother, Betty Kirk; his stepmother, Louisa Kirk; his brothers, Matt and John; and his daughters, Amaya and Anna. He was preceded in death by his father, Adrian Kirk.
