Age 63, of Pittsburgh passed away at home on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. He was born on September 18, 1954. He was educated within the Pittsburgh Public Schools and graduated from Peabody High School's class of 1972. Steve enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent much of his 4 years of service to our country in Germany. He retired from the Sunoco Oil Company as a tractor trailer truck driver in 2010 and was enjoying his retirement. Steve was someone that picked his family members. You need not be a blood relative for him to accept or treat you as one. Whether you were a school classmate, neighbor, family friend, co-worker or member of one of the many social clubs he belonged to, you were his family. It did not take long to convince Steve of a couple of things: to play a game of bid whist or to go fishing. He was a self-proclaimed "whistologist" that carried his fishing rods in the trunk of his car at all times. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Stevenson "Pete" Brown, Sr. and his mother, Annie Julia (Humphrey) Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Stevenson Brown III of Carnegie, PA and Adam Brown of Carnegie, PA; daughter, Stevvaie Brown of Carnegie, PA. He also leaves behind 7 granddaughters and 1 grandson. His siblings, Debra (Clarence) Youngblood of Penn Hills, PA, Scott (Pam) Brown of Penn Hills, PA, Stuart (Janice) Brown of Smyrna, GA, Stanley (Bernetta) Brown of Pittsburgh, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends received TUESDAY ONLY 9-11:30 a.m. at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington Street, Swissvale, where a service will be held at11:30 a.m.

To the children, siblings & all family of Stevenson "Petie"Brown,
I too am just heartbroken, sadden & still speechless in hearing of Petie'passing. He'll always be remembered as an admirable big cousin, who was willing to humbly help any way he could. Petie will never be forgotten and although its been a while I'm elated that our last conversation I took the opportunity to let him know that I loved him & that I care about his well being.
I have been praying for you all and will continue to do so. Its no secret how much he loved his children. And I have my whole life to reflect on the special love he shared with his siblings. May God's love, peace & comfort be everlasting to you all.
