Susan Laskey Seeley, 81, died peacefully Wednesday, February 3, 2021 In Merrimack, New Hampshire with family by her side. Susan was born in Melrose, Massachusetts, 1939, the daughter of Arthur Laskey and Isabelle Laskey. She was the wife of Horst Seeley, having been married for a wonderful 56 years. Susan grew up with her brother and sister, in Melrose and frequently visited her grandfather's lake house in Maine. She graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 20. Susan held various supportive positions, specifically working for a bank president, a corporate manager, and a grade school principal in Manchester, New Hampshire. During this time, she met her husband, Horst, and they had two children Lisa and Stephen. She enjoyed working for the school system, which allowed her to spend precious time raising her children. When they were grown, she then worked for Curbstone Financial as an office manager for several years, until her retirement in 1999. In her spare time, Susan loved to solve crossword puzzles and Sudokus. She and Horst were big fans of the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots, watching almost every game from the comfort of their own home. She loved spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her many trips to Sanibel Island in Florida, and most definitely their time spent living in Palm Coast. While in New England, she enjoyed trips to the White Mountains, particularly their annual wedding anniversary trip to The Mount Washington Hotel in September. Susan was predeceased by her sister Deborah Murphy. She is survived by her devoted husband Horst Seeley, her children Lisa Zaeder and Stephen Seeley, her grandchildren: Jeffrey Zaeder, Ben Zaeder, Alexandra Seeley, Tyler Seeley, and Nathan Seeley. Her brother Frederick Laskey, and wife Coleen Laskey, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for family only will be held in Manchester, New Hampshire. Phaneuf funeral home in Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.

Every so often, I open a file with paperwork from the Sue Seeley era in our office, where she spent many productive years. The memories of Susan are terrific, and we were blessed to have her in our midst for so many years.

Dear Horst,

I was surprised to see the obituary in the paper yesterday. So sorry for your loss. She was such a such a joy to work with in selling your home on Blueberry Dr and then helping you purchase your home on Danforth. I've enjoyed our visits together with my grandson Oliver! She will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this difficult time. My deepest sympathies.

We were saddened to hear of Sue's passing. We were a family at Curbstone Financial for many years, and Sue inspired, as the Matriarch. We were blessed to have her in our lives. We remember fondly that Sue was the rock that held Curbstone together as family. We will always treasure our time with her. We are so grateful for that. Our warmest thoughts are with Horst, Stephen, Lisa and the entire Seeley family. Bob and Mimi Wilson
