THELMA T. CARVIN Thelma T. Carvin passed on from this life on Saturday, November 9, 2002. Her family and friends have gathered not to mourn, but to celebrate her life. Thelma was born on September 5, 1935 in Shreveport, La. to James T. and Bernice Ruben Thomas. The family moved to Houston, Texas while she was a youth. She attended public school in Houston, and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School as class Valedictorian in 1954. After graduation from high school she attended Prairie View A. & M. She is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn Clemons (Reginald), and Sheryle Thomas of Houston, Texas; three granddaughters, Tiffany Menefee (Robert), Brittany Clemons, and Mehgan Clemons; one great granddaughter, Tayler Menefee. She leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Thelma's family is saddened by her untimely passing, but is overjoyed because she is now in the arms of Jesus our Savior. We were deeply grieved to learn of Thelma's death. We shared so many happy moments during our high school days at Wheatley High School.

She will be remembered, fondly, for her superior qualities and quiet, modest demeanor.

The entire family has our heartfelt sympathy and prayers.

I would like to extend to the family my expression of sympathy in Ms. Carvin's passing. Ms. Carvin was a valuable asset to the employees during her years of service as a union representative, while working for the U.S. Postal Service. She helped me and so many others and it was truly a pleasure in knowing and working with her. She was always dedicated to your cause and showed genuine concern with your particular problem. She will be greatly missed. My prayer are with the family in their time of sorrow. Remember, GOD IS ABLE.
