Theresa "TC" Bauer-Burger

Theresa Ann "TC" Bauer-Burger, 51, of Chatanika, passed away peacefully in her riverside home Friday, Nov. 3, 2017.
Theresa was a very talented singer, songwriter, guitarist, actress and artist. She started singing and taking guitar lessons in elementary school and continued to perform music into her adulthood. She began performing professionally in Spokane by the time she was 18 years old. At 21, she moved to Fairbanks to continue her music career with the band Zephyr. She was part of many bands while performing in various cities throughout Alaska, most notably Fairbanks and Chatanika. 
Theresa enjoyed a loyal following at the Chatanika Lodge, where she played for over 28 years, performing songs such as "New York, New York" and "Chatanika Attitude," a merry tribute she wrote for the community she called home. Theresa volunteered her talents with the local Fairbanks theater and arts community, including the Fairbanks Drama Association, Fairbanks Light Opera Theatre and the Summer Arts Festival. Her most recent shows include "Smokey Joe's Café" by FDA, and "Les Misérables" by FLOT. Her many accomplishments included opening for the country groups Sugarland and Montgomery Gentry and the rock group Jethro Tull.
Theresa was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was always helping people in artistic ways, such as singing Christmas carols for the neighbors, participating in many children's events and crafting her own Christmas cards to send to friends and family. Not only was Theresa caring and loving, but she was also very strong, thriving even in the harsh Alaskan environment, which she loved. TC's spirit and songs from the heart will live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her smile and love of life will be missed by many.
Theresa was born Dec. 17, 1965, to Robert and Patricia (Weaver) Bauer, in Spokane, Washington.
She met Sam and his four sons, Saul (Laura), Shane, Tell (Kate) and Joel (Jessica) in Alaska, and they were married Oct. 21, 2001, in Spokane.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Burger; her father, Robert Bauer; and her sister, Mary Bauer.
She is survived by her mother, Patricia Bauer; her sisters, Susie Orellana (Abel) and Angela Tiffany (Shawn); and her brothers, Larry Bauer and Damon Bauer.
Services were held Sunday, Nov. 26, at St. Francis of Assisi, 1104 W Heroy Ave., Spokane, WA 99205.
