Thomas BAHNIUK Obituary
July 30, 1933 - May 13, 2016
It's with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Tom Bahniuk of Edmonton, AB. His life touched many and will be cherished by his family: loving wife Mari, daughter Leah and son T.J. (Tanya); sisters-in-law: Merilda Bahniuk, Anne Allison, Myrl Manzevich, Sylvia Manzevich; cousin Russel Bannock; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was predeceased by his parents Maria and Thomas, Sister Anne and Brother Paul.
Tom was born in Edmonton AB and attended the U of A and obtained his Civil Engineering Degree in 1959 and then had 32 years of dedicated service with the Alberta Government/Public Works. Tom was an avid sports fan and was very well known in the competitive curling and baseball circles. Tom was an Honorary Life Member of the Maple Leaf Athletic Club and was Edmonton Minor Hockey Weeks Honorary Chairperson in 2014. After his retirement in 1991 from the Alberta Government Tom worked for a short time with the United Way and continued to be a dedicated family man, volunteer, friend and neighbour.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Serenity North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton AB with Reverend Kelly Desmarias officiating. Cremation has taken place. Please join the family for fellowship and fond memories directly after the service.
If friends so desire, memorial donations in Tom's honour may be made to Sport Central a local children's Charity

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was a great guy, and we had a lot of fun especially at the 1966 Grey Cup Bonspiel in Vancouver along with Clem Nault and Peter Lawton. Rest in peace Tom.

What a great tribute Saturday for a great man!
I'm sure he is very proud of all the efforts.
Very apparent he has touched many lives on his journey by the attendance at his life's celebration.
Tom Sr. and my interactions were few but I always felt a bond (as I am sure everyone did).
Thank you TJ for sharing your dad with us.
