Thomas Martin Conway

Thomas Martin Conway 80, died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 3, 2011 in Tucson, AZ. He was born on August 2, 1931 to Thomas O. and Minnie Conway in Norfolk, NE. Tom graduated from Madison, NE high school, and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. On June 8, 1952 he married Barbara Kilgore in Ogallala, NE. Tom began his career in food packaging with Marathon Corp. in Menasha, WI. For the next 37 years Tom and Barbara were transferred several times with American Can Co. He retired as Director of Marketing in Chicago, eventually moving to Lincoln, NE and Tucson, AZ. Tom and Barbara spent the next 23 years traveling the world and meeting new people. Tom was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed singing in the choir, playing golf, Nebraska sports, gardening and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Phyllis and Deloras. Survivors include wife, Barbara of Tucson; children, Jane (Michael) Grogan, Casper, WY, Sue Blankenship, Cody, WY; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister, Irene Reigle; brother-in-law, Jerry Kilgore; sister-in-law, Carol Kilgore; Ulla Jarvelin, Finnish exchange student and nieces and nephews. Services 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011, St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1431 W. Magee Rd., Tucson, AZ 85704. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Ronald McDonald House, 1300 E. 21st Ave., Denver, Co 80205 or St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
