Mr. Parrott was born in Florence County on Feb. 14, 1947. He was a son of the late Blease Parrott and the late Ella Mae Clemmons Parrott and was married to Donnie Mae McKay Parrott. Mr. Parrott attended Scranton Pentecostal Holiness Church and worked as a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Donnie Mae McKay Parrott, of the home; a daughter, Thedis McKenzie (Robert) of Olanta; a son, Tommy Parrott (Rachel) of Scranton; two sisters, Roxie Baxley (Dedis) of Scranton and Nell Baxley (Squeaky) of Johnsonville; three brothers John Parrott (Rilla), Michael Bull Parrott (Ann) and Glenn Buckey Parrott, all of Scranton; and six grandchildren.
Mr. Parrott is preceded in death by a sister, Lizzie Miles; and a brother, Kenneth Peanut Parrott.
The Parrott family will have visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Funeral services for Mr. Parrott will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 31, in Scranton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in Strickland-Feagin Cemetery.
Brockington Funeral Home of Lake City is in charge.

i just found out today of pet's passing and remembering the kind hearted man he was, i was just strucken with so much grief for the family, but i have lost a very good friend. i have called this man and told him i was hungry and he would come bring me something to eat. i am sure he is in heaven cause he sure helped people to the best of his ability. pet was a very good friend, and will be sadly and dearly missed and never forgotten. the family will be in our prayers. diane and paul bailey
