Thomas Prescott Obituary

Thomas William Prescott Jr., loving husband, father and grandfather, age 62, was called home to God after a courageous battle with cancer on November 3, 2003. He graduated from the University of Texas, at Austin with a BBA and was a practicing CPA. Prior to starting his own accounting practice, Thomas worked for Grant Thornton in Dallas for almost 20 years before moving to Austin as managing partner in the firm. Tom has served as both President and Treasurer of Balcones Country Club. He was an active member of the Northwest Rotary Club serving as Treasurer for many years and President from 1998- 1999. Thomas' walk with God was through the Methodist Faith since he was a small child. He enjoyed bridge, fishing, all sports, and especially watching his grandchildren play soccer. In 1963, Tom married his high school sweeheart, Carol Stouder. In May of this year, they celebrated their 40th Anniversary in Washington and Oregon, which completed their journey through all 48 continental United States, in addition to 10 foreign countries. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Stouder) Prescott of Austin; son, Troy Prescott of Austin; daughter, Dawana Carmona and husband, James of Taylor; sister, Ann Kay McClintock of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Kirsten, Miacayla and Ty Carmona of Taylor; sister-in-law, Betty White and husband, Jerry of Anahuac; one niece, three nephews, and many loving friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral Services will be held in the Memorial Chapel of Cook- Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2003. Burial will follow at Cook- Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
