I admired Vijay - He was cheerful, full of initiative, and worked hard to make every day better.
The world seems a little less now.
Our deepest condolences to Micky, Guddu, and Shyam/Kamini & family. May you all have the strength to push through these trying times.

Dear Aditi & Ajay,

The crises in any ones life time is loss of a parent. It becomes bad if one parent is not there, worse when both are not there and worst if they die young. Sixty is no age to die .

In any case when it is fait accompli the best we could do is draw inspiration from their lives and in that inspiration find solace and indeed blessed that they were our parents.
I met Viji after college in early eighties in Ahmadabad,I remember the house near IIMA when we last met.
I had the good fortune to talk to him from his CA home last year.
A lively person very good at heart .
I reminded him of his roll number 3002 at RECW
Persons with such lovely demeanour are but rare to find. I am glad that I had him as a good friend.

Take care

I am truly shocked and saddened to hear the news of the sudden passing of Viji. Viji (as he was known to those of us from REC Warangal) was a dear friend and was well liked by everyone. Even though we had lost contact with each other for a number of years post our graduation, we reconnected just a couple of years ago, and picked up our relationship without missing a beat. And true to form, he was the same old Viji, always with a smile, taking things easy, never ruffled about anything, and most importantly, always able to look at the positive side of things, no matter what life had to throw at him. I learned a lot from him, and am proud to say that my life is richer for having known him. If a man is judged by the company he keeps, then I am proud to say that Viji was my friend. While Viji is no longer among us, I will carry with me the vivid image of his ever smiling face. He will truly be missed. May his soul rest in peace!

Aditi and Ajay, while we have never met, please accept my deepest condolences for this loss. As had been his wont, I am sure that his guidance to you throughout your lives had been nothing short of the best. May the Almighty give you the strength to deal with the loss, and know that he was loved by many more than you know and will be missed by everyone that came to know him.

Dear Guddu and Mickey: Vijay was a wonderful person to talk with. During his last visit to Delhi, we had a good time together. It was a shock when I heard about Vijay. He was a wonderful father to two beautiful children. Always caring and going out of his way to get the work done. We will miss Vijay a lot. Rest in Peace Vijay!

Shocked to hear about Vijay.
We both are alumnus of REC Warangal, he was a few years junior. Although I never had a chance to meet him in person, I have spoken to him quite a few times in the last 20 years through Shyam Chari. I know that he was a very dedicated & devoted father. After Geeta's death he was both father & mother to the children.
Rest in peace Vijay !

Vijay:
Though I first met you in 1982, I really got to know you only since 2001 when you landed in Los Angeles. I remember our long conversations late into the nights. You were a great companion. But more importantly you were a fantastic father to Mickey and Guddu. It was a great sacrifice for you to have left East Africa where you had a very good job and perks, in order to be with Mickey and Guddu.

I remember the precise way you cut the vegetables. I also remember the calm ways you took to approach life. Multiple times to DMV office, multiple jobs, multiple personalities you had to deal with, would have taken a toll for a lesser person. But you handled it all in your own soft way. I have never seen you really angry.
My friend, you are an exemplar of how to handle tough situations, and for lot of people to emulate. Mickey and Guddu were indeed lucky to have a dedicated father like you.
I will certainly miss our conversations.

I just coudn't believe the neews. what a shock. Aditi and Micky, don't know how I can console you for the loss. Only thing I can say is that you both have been the best children a father could wish for. You both were looking after him with with total devotion. I understand that it was all of a sudden and without any pain. May god bless his soul.

My vivid memories of Vijay date back to 1981 when he married my sister Gita. I remember going to see the movie "Kartavya" with him and my sister before they got married. Also when I was in high school I respected his intelligence and problem solving ability and would go to him with my Math and Science problems whenever he used to come home.

Vijay possessed some great qualities. He had a very calming influence. I have never seen him angry or upset and he had great ability to deal with a lot of stress and never really showed or expressed frustration at the situation at hand. He was always smiling, cheerful and an extremely soft spoken person. All in all he was a great human being.

Really thankful that he was a part of our family. Vijay and Gita have left behind 2 very responsible, intelligent and mature children. Vijay love you very much and will miss you!
