I was a neuroscientist at KCH and I casually met Vijay at a seminar. we became talking friends whenever we met in the corridors at King's.
I am very sad to read about his death from the alumni obituary column. Being quite tall he was an imposing figure at the hospital.
My condolences to his family.

It is with great sorrow, I report the passing away of Dr. Azam U. Ansari an Internist who practiced in Minneapolis, Minnesota for over 53 years. He graduated from Medical College, Hyderabad, India in 1964, was trained at the Veterans Administration Hospitals, Minneapolis and was certified by American Board of Internal Medicine in the following specialties: Gastroenterology, Cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine, internal medicine, and critical care. His only goal in life seemed to be the quest for knowledge in the chosen fields and providing superb patient care

I had the pleasure of working with Vijay for many years. He was the founding President of our professional society, SASAT. We the members of SASAT miss him very much. We have lost a great leader.

I had the pleasure of working with Me Kakkar (as he then was), during my time as a theatre sister at King's College Hospital in the early seventies.
He was demanding, impatient, dedicated, and determined to give his best for every patient.
A brilliant man.
