Violet Throgmorton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 5, 2010.
MARION - Violet B. (Will) Throgmorton, 90, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, in Angel Acres in Marion, where she has resided for the past year.

Violet was born July 14, 1920, in Marion, the daughter of Earl and Sadie (Deaton) Buckner. On Dec. 24, 1936, she married John C. Will in Anna-Jonesboro. To this union, three boys were born, Charles L., Edward L. and John W. Will. They were Violet's pride and joy.

She has eight grandchildren, Tammy Allgaier and husband, Alphonse, Tim Will and wife, Elizabeth, Kimberly Camp and husband, Char-lie, Jayson Will and wife, Dayna, Julie Cannedy, Amy Tallman and husband, Justin, Christy VanZant, Melissa Davidson and husband, Ja-son. She also has 15 great-grandchildren.

After 58 years of marriage to John C. Will, he passed away Nov. 7, 1994. After four years, God sent Violet another wonderful partner. Violet married Lester (Pat) Throgmorton. They shared three years of wonderful happiness before Pat passed away Sept. 17, 2001. From this marriage, Violet gained two stepchildren, Kay Paul and husband, Dan, and Wesley Throgmorton and wife, Pam; six stepgrandchildren, and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

Until her health faded, Violet was very active in church, as she was a charter member of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Marion. She loved to laugh and have fun. She loved God first, and then her family. Violet graduated from VTI of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, nursing school. For more than 20 years, she cared for the people of Marion at the old Marion Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her son, John W. Will and wife, Cheryl, of Marion; stepchildren, Kay Paul and husband, Dan, of Crete, Wesley Throgmorton and wife, Pam, of Virgin Islands; and all her grand and great-grandchildren; and special daughter-in-law, JoAnn Will of Calvert City, Ky.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brother, Arville Buckner; and sons, Charles and Edward Will.

Violet loved everyone, even her undertaker, but most of all her Lord and Savior.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, in Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with the Rev. Roy Baker of-ficiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

With sorrow I read of Violet's passing. She was a wonderful woman and a good wife to Uncle Pat. I'm blessed to have known her. My prayers are with you all. LaDonna Owen Alexander (Lincoln, IL)

John: Sorry to read of your mothers passing. We only had seen her in recent years at the senior center, but she was always smiling and happy. God be with each of you as she is laid to rest.
