Wilbert Theobald

PEORIA - Wilbert Frank Theobald, 87, of Peoria passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on May 12, 1920, in Metamora, Ill., to Clara Theobald. He married Louise Gina Bianchi.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Theobald Ruthe.

Wilbert is survived by his wife, Gina Theobald; his four children, Mark, John, Deannie and Patricia; and many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Wilbert worked as a laborer in the Peoria area and was a member of the Laborers International Local 165 for 60 years. He was a member and officer in the Orpheus Club and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria, where he sang in the choir.

Wilbert loved ballroom dancing, music, singing and enjoyed playing his many instruments.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to services. His grandson, the Rev. Brandon Theobald, and Fr. Don Roszkowski will officiate. Entombment will take place in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
