William Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 31, 2010.
William Adams Brown left this earth to join his parents and nine siblings in that place where all good Scots go on January 24, 2010. Born in Lagrange, ILL. April 5, 1926. He was to enlist in the U.S. Navy at 17 and serve proudly in the South Pacific in WWII. After the war he returned to Chicago, here he met his wife, Mailynne who he now leaves for the first time since 1947. He worked for 30 years for AAMCO Oil and was active in the Seabee Veterans after he retired to Tucson in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Marilynne W. Brown; his son, Leslie W. Brown; his beloved granddaughter, Sara W. Brown and many nephews, nieces, and friends. Dad, you were the best man I ever knew and we'll miss you every day. Services will be held in Chicago at a later date.

Bill was a special friend to us in LaGrange. We always had a private parking place in his driveway to attend school events. And best of all he was best man at our wedding.

Grandpa- I am thankful for every day I got to know you. You taught me how to whistle, how to take photographs, and how to drive. Above all that you taught me what it means to be a good person. The later you taught by the example- every day. You are the most honorable man I've ever known and likely ever will. Anyone who knew you is blessed.

I learned much from Bill, and I still hear his voice comforting me.
