GREENSBORO — Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Yaffa Miller died on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
Graveside services will be held today, Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Hebrew Cemetery with Rabbi Andy Koren officiating.
Yaffa was born on August 9, 1946 in Poland to Shalom and Genia Frenkel. At the age of 4 she moved to Israel where she lived and grew up in Nahariya. She served in the Israeli Army. She met her husband, Merrill Miller, while attending Hebrew University and she came to the United States at the age of 22. She obtained a BA degree from Columbia University and a Masters degree from Wesleyan University in school psychology.
She had a distinguished 35 year career as a school psychologist in Connecticut, Iowa, Cumberland County, and Charlotte/Mecklenburg County in North Carolina. She was the published author of Kids on the Move. Her greatest pride and joy were her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Merrill Miller, Professor Emeritus; her children, Yoram Miller, Esq. and Dr. Talia Aron; grandchildren, Gabriel Miller and Abigail Aron; a sister, Rachel Hendel. She was preceded in death by her brother Hezy Frenkel and her parents.

Aunt Charlotte, the Jacobsons and the Whiddons are so sorry for your loss. We love you and the kids and we will miss Yaffa very much. Yaffa was a smart, warm, kind and lovely lady who touched our hearts. Our thoughts are with you.
